The Rimini Riviera meets Cuban tradition

Rimini and Havana together return to the 1960s to provide a lively and joyful atmosphere for Mode's guests. A customised wallpaper on a work by Cuban artist Raúl Valdes González, which covers the wall facing the entrance, emotionally characterises the start of the suite's use.

In the living room, bedroom and bathroom, everything is reminiscent of the warm and cosy atmosphere of Havana: from the materials of the furniture and accessories to the recovery of vintage objects to the geometric textures and bright colours, while at the same time linking with the joyful, carefree atmosphere of the Romagna Riviera and contemporary design.

A creative suite, attentive to sustainability in its choices, in line with the philosophy of reuse proper to Cuban culture, but also emblematic of a sustainable 'Second Hand' approach.

The sustainable principles of From Rimini to Habana

  • Respect for the four dimensions of sustainability (environmental - social - economic - cultural);
  • Design that considers possibilities for functional modifications and space evolutions;
  • Shared design and social responsibility: involvement of young designers and creatives from Italy and Cuba and upholsterers - in training - in all phases of the project, from concept to realisation;
  • Supplies that reduce resource use and waste: water-saving taps and fittings; energy-saving LED lighting.
  • Certified Made in Italy materials and finishes, specifically:
    • ceramics from neighbourhood companies with EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification
    • high-performance, washable wallpaper for durability.
    • chipboard paneling made from 100% recycled wood.
    • non-toxic, washable water-based paints free of formaldehyde and added plasticisers and classified indoor air quality A+ for very low VOC (volatile organic compounds in air) emissions.
    • Fabrics made of natural fibres certified with Ecolabel, EPD, Greenguard or that comply with the European REACH regulation.
  • Selection of second-hand, reclaimed and reused furniture and accessories;
  • Design and selection of new furniture, but designed according to eco-design principles to reduce environmental impact: sturdiness and durability of products, possibility of multiple assembly and disassembly, use of recyclable 100% materials (wood, metal, ceramics), non-toxic paints and proximity of suppliers.
